Immunizations: Children and Adults
Immunizations are provided as a service to Peoria County residents to assure access to immunizations for vaccine preventable diseases. Fees apply for some services however vaccines required for daycare or school entry are not denied due to inability to pay.
Infants normally begin their immunizations with a dose of Hepatitis B vaccine at birth, followed by immunizations at 2, 4, 6 and 12-18 months of age. Vaccines are needed following a child's 4th birthday for school entry. Additional vaccinations are recommended at 11-12 years of age. A booster of a Tetanus/Diphtheria containing vaccine is required for entry into high school but may be covered by immunizations that were given at 11-12 years of age. Please contact colleges for information on immunization requirements as these may vary due to field of study.
Childhood/Adult immunizations available include: Hepatitis A & B, Polio, DTaP, Td, Tdap, HIB, Measles, Mumps and Rubella, Rotavirus, Chicken Pox, Meningococcal (Menactra & Menomune), Pneumococcal (Prevnar & Pneumovax), HPV, Shingles and flu vaccines.
To receive immunizations, children under 18 must be accompanied by a legal guardian or call for information on what is required for a non-parent or guardian adult to be able to bring the child. Clients are asked to bring immunization records to their appointments.

Foreign Travel
Consultation with our nursing staff regarding a travelers health risks, immunization recommendations and requirements for travel to other countries is provided. Immunizations are provided to assure access to immunizations for vaccine preventable diseases that are present in various parts of the world. Clients are asked to bring their travel itinerary and a listing of any medications they are taking. Fees are charged for these services.
Vaccines available in addition to those listed under childhood/adult immunizations are: Immune globulin, Typhoid, Rabies and Yellow Fever vaccines.
